Big News!

Hey! Long time...

So I'm not good at keeping up with the BLOG thing, I think we've already established that! It's not that I dislike writing; I really do a lot of it on a daily basis. I write messages and post on a Scrapbook forum daily - usually more so than I should. I write to my sons in the Navy and at U.S. Marine boot camp. I write lists, journal in my scrapbooks...

I just haven't mastered writing in one place yet!

Well, Big News... I completed several teaching applications last might. BTW, very cool technically speaking! Teach Louisiana has gotten very spiffy I must say. Online application process was quick and painless, allows for edits, sends the forms to the prospective employers email, produces a printable .PDF form, AND keeps track of when the form has been VIEWED by said employer! How cool is that! For instance I already know that St. Charles Parish has opened and read my resume and application this morning.

On the “scrappy” side of life I am working on a BOM – a Book of Moi. One of the challenges in my Scrap Happenz! Group was to Scrap Your Color… Yup! Purple

Another challenge was to scrap Black & White. This page is part of my heritage album to which I'm slooowly adding LO's and genealogy research. All Photos will be Black & White and my rule is to ONLY use acid free, lignin free papers - no other embelishments.


I've also added some extracurricular classes to my schedule now that I have empty nest syndrome. I'm taking an American Sign Language class, a digital photography class, and a Photoshop Elements class at UNO - non-credit. ASL is not difficult to grasp once you learn the alphabet and some basic links. The ASL classes are on Wednesday nights at Elmwood. The Digital Photography and Elements courses will be on Thursday nights for the next 10 weeks. I'm somewhat busy - but loving semi-retirement! Until next time...
