TEST: Citing Internet Sources

Directions:

Use Microsoft Word to record your answers and Internet Explorer to locate each article listed below. SAVE your Word document in your network/year folder as sourcetest.doc. Type a 2-3 sentence summary of the article and properly cite its source (MLA format as taught in class). [SEE example below] Font format must be Arial size 14. Paragraph format must be single spaced entries with double space between each Numbered List item. Include a Header containing the proper class heading and a Footer noting file and pathname using Autotext. When completed, preview and proofread your work before printing to make sure that you are not wasting paper. Once you have turned in your paper (in the "To Be Graded" box) you MUST shutdown your computer and read silently. You may begin your task as soon as you have read these directions.

Example:

  1. Type a 2-3 sentence summary of the information. You may choose to use the "copy & paste" technique if you properly use quotation marks around anything copied. The source will come after the summary. Force a line break between the summary and the source do not double space - (HINT: SHIFT + ENTER).
    Author (Last name, First Name) or Originator. "Title of Article". Day Month Year. [ONLINE] <http://domain.name.here/path/filename>.   (HINT: SHIFT + ENTER) then ENTER to start a new entry

  2. This would start the second summary. Note the double space between entries and single space within the entry...
